"[A Rare Seed of Uniqueness Planted by God with a Purpose!.]"

Reverend Joseph Mambo Gacheru was a devoted servant of the Lord dedicating his life to

serving others through faith and action. With over 20 years of experience in non-profit

leadership, and over 30 years in ministry, serving at various capacities within the Deliverance

Church Organization, Reverend Joseph served as the Executive Director of CANA Family

Life Resource Center, for the past two decades, while also serving as the Senior Pastor of

Deliverance Church Sinai, in Mukuru, Nairobi, Kenya.

Born and raised in a small town, in Kiambu County, Kenya, Reverend Joseph excelled in his

studies, and was awarded a B.A. in accounting, becoming a certified auditor and a CPA. He

worked for different government departments before retiring in 1998, and starting his own

business. However, in the year 2000, Reverend Joseph together with his wife and life partner,

Reverend Mary Mambo, felt the call to ministry in the informal settlement of Mukuru-Sinai.

Together, they founded CANA Ministry, a faith-based organization, which its sole purpose

was to cater for the needs of the forgotten people of Mukuru-Sinai. It was while serving in

within CANA Family Life Resource Center, and the community at large, that promoted

equality, compassion, and service to others. He believed that the church (DC Sinai) and the

organization he founded (CANA), should be a beacon of hope and light in the world.

Under his guidance and leadership, CANA grew into a multifaceted organization with four

distinct departments: CANA Outpatient Clinic and Maternity Hospital, CANA Kings Primary

School, CANA Children’s Rescue Center for girls, and CANA Project Office. His intention

and goals were to serve the community by, providing food, shelter, medical care and spiritual

support to those in need. Reverend Joseph unwavering commitment to his faith and his

passion for compassionate service have inspired countless individuals to join the mission. He

was a sought-after speaker and mentor, and his devotion to making a positive impact in the

world is unrelenting. Through his leadership, CANA Family Life and DC Sinai became a
