OVC Rescue - Care & Support

CANA established a rescue centre for girls in response to a number of challenges facing the girl child in such slum settlements-rape, neglect by parents, abandonment, lack of food at the household level, etc.

The rescue centre currently caters for 60 girls aged 3-18 years. Boys who have faced a similar experience have been rescued and referred to other charitable children's institutions for care and support.  All their basic needs including education are provided for by the organization up to the time they transition to the community and are able to meet their needs on their own.

Our plan is to acquire a piece of land where such boys can also be assisted to access their basic needs including the right to education.
